After a massive search operation for over 36 hours, the body of Café Coffee Day founder VG Siddhartha was recovered from Nethravathi river near Mangaluru by a fisherman early this morning.
According to The Times of India, the body has been shifted to Wenlock Hospital where a post-mortem will be conducted.
The 59-year-old CCD founder has been missing since Monday, when he had asked his driver to take him to the Nethravathi Bridge while coming to Mangaluru. It is suspected that he committed suicide by jumping off the bridge.
Siddhartha’s body will be taken to Chikkamagaluru after post-mortem where his last rites will be performed. Former politician SM Krishnan and Siddhartha’s wife have started from Bangalore to perform the last sites.
All CCD outlets will remain shut on Wednesday following his death.
