Jammu and Kashmir Journalists Claim BJP Bribed Them. BJP Denies It, Says Will Sue

A group of journalists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Leh accused the BJP of “trying to bribe reporters for favourable coverage.” A video has emerged in which BJP legislator Vikram Randhawa is handing out envelopes to the media at a press conference.

We cannot verify the authenticity of the video.

The BJP has denied the allegations and said it will sue the journalists for defamation. A leader said, “We don’t believe in bribing anybody. We hold journalists in high esteem. BJP has never done such a thing and we will never do it.”

Praising the journalists and the election officer in Leh, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti tweeted:
