The First phase of 2019 Lok Sabha Election. 11Th April 2019. 14 crore eligible voters. 91 constituencies. 20 states and union territories. Will the world’s biggest democracy choose PM Modi again? Kya #ModiHiAyega? We all heard what happened on the first day. first show. Amid violence, deaths, gunbattle, and EVM malfunctioning, people cast their votes for their favorite parties.

With long lines of voters seen across several places, it seems the voting trend is matching more or less with the 2014 Lok Sabha election. In some places, polling percentage has dropped as the preliminary reports suggest.

Tripura and West Bengal topped the charts at 81.8% and 80% respectively, Bihar stands at the bottom with 50% polling percentage. Source: Times of India.

Polling is now complete in 10 states and Union territories. The election will end on 19 May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha. With the opposition as Congress led by Rahul Gandhi, will PM Modi will this time? During a mock voting in December 2018 where 100 million voters from 5 states went to the polls, BJP didn’t win a single state. The party no longer looks invincible but their recent strategies such as acts taken for the Pulwama attack, tax reform, and anti-missile test may make them win again in 2019.
